Ford Prem ium Cooling System Fluid is an
optim ized form ula that will protect all metal and
ru bber elastom ers used in Ford engines for four
years or 50,000 miles (80,000 km ). It is not
necessary and not recom mend ed to use
supplem ental coolant ad ditives in you r vehicle.
These ad ditives may harm you r engine cooling
system . Follow the recom mend ed service interval
for changing you r engine coolant.
NOTE: When you change or add engin e
coolan t, it is importan t to main tain
you r engin e coolan t concentration
betw een 40% (-11˚F [-24˚C]) and 60%
(-62˚F
[-52˚C]), depending on you r local
clim ate condition s. Below 40% you will
lose freeze protection and above 60%
you r engin e may overh eat on a warm
day.
NOTE: Less than 40% of coolan t concentration
may cause engin e corrosion and
overh eatin g. Plain water may be used
in an emergen cy only. Rep lace it with
the specified coolan t as quickly as
possib le.
NOTE: The use of an improp er coolan t may
void you r warran ty for the engin e
coolin g system . Use only a prem ium,
nation ally recogn ized bran d name
engin e coolan t. Do not use alcoh ol,
meth anol antifreeze or engin e coolan t
mixed with alcoh ol or meth anol
antifreeze. If you do not use the prop er
coolan t, the alu minum engin e on you r
veh icle will corrod e.
