4LO — Four wheels are driven. Use when
climbingordescendingsteephills,orduring
harddrivinginsand,mudordeepsnow.The
4LO position provides maximum power and
traction.Avoidraisingvehiclespeedex-
cessively, as the maximum speed is
approximately30MPH(50km/h).
WARNING
● If the rear wheels spin on snow-
covered roads, etc., do not at-
tempttooperatetheshiftleveror
4WDshiftswitch.
If the shift lever is set midway be-
tween the H and the 4LO position,
the 4WD warning light will some-
timesilluminate.Whenthisoccurs,
movetheshiftlevertotheHor4LO
position.
If the key switch is turned off after
theabovecondition,the4WDwarn-
inglightgoesout.

Theindicatorlightblinkswhileshift-
ing from one drive mode to the
other.Itilluminatesaftershiftingthe
drive mode. If the indicator light
doesnotchangeilluminationduring
drive mode shifts, look around the
vehicle to check that there are no
abstructions near the vehicle. Set
the steering wheel to the straight-
ahead position, then shift the drive
modewhileacceleratingordeceler-

● When parking the vehicle, apply
the parking brake and shift the
transfer control lever in the H or
4LO position. Do not leave be-
tween the H and 4LO positions.
Otherwise, the vehicle could roll
unexpectedly even if the auto-
matic transmission is in the P
position.
