The fluid level should be checked using the
HOTrange(L&Hmarks)onthedipstickat
fluid temperatures between 122 and 176°F

theparkingbrake.
3. Check the fluid level with the engine
idling.

However, the fluid level must be rechecked
usingtheHOTrange.
Starttheengineandthenmovetheselec-
tor lever through each gear range ending
inP(Park).
4. Expandthespringstopperandremovethe
dipstick.Wipeitcleanwithlint-freepaper.
5.
Reinsertthedipstickintothechargingpipe
asfarasitwillgo.
6. Removethedipstickandnotethereading.
If the level is at the low side of either
range,addfluidtothechargingpipe.
7.
Wheninsertingthedipstick,setitsothat
thespringstopperpressestheupperpart
