● Make sure the parking brake is
securely applied and the auto-
matictransmissionisshiftedinto
P(Park).
Park on a level surface and apply the
parking brake. Shift the automatic trans-
missiontoP(Park).

hicleisonaslope,iceorslippery
areas.Thisishazardous.

The transfer shift lever must be in
theHor4LOposition.

Never change tires if oncoming
traffic is close to your vehicle.
Neverplacethetransfershiftleverin
the N position. Otherwise, the ve-
hiclecouldrollunexpectedlyevenif
theautomatictransmissionisinthe
Pposition.Thiscouldresultinseri-
ous personal injury or property
damage.
