2. Whiledepressingthebrakepedal,startthe
engine. The pedal height should drop a
little.

With the brake pedal depressed, stop the
engine. Keeping the pedal depressed for
about30seconds,thepedalheightshould
notchange.
Neveruseafuseofhigheramperage
ratingthanthatspecifiedonthefuse
box cover. This could damage the
vehicleelectricalsystemorcausea
fire.
Thereardrumbrakes(ifsoequipped)donot
haveaudiblewearindicators.Shouldyouever
hear an unusually loud noise from the rear
drumbrakes,havetheminspectedassoonas
possiblebyyourINFINITIdealer.

Run the engine for one minute without
depressingthebrakepedal,thenturnitoff.
Depressthebrakepedalseveraltimes.The
pedaltraveldistancewilldecreasegradu-
allywitheachdepressionasthevacuumis
releasedfromthebooster.

Proper
brake
inspection
intervals
shouldbefollowed.See‘‘Periodicmainte-
nance’’ in the ‘‘9. Maintenance’’ section for
maintenanceintervals.
Ifthebrakesdonotoperateproperly,seeyour
INFINITIdealer.
BRAKEBOOSTER
Checkthebrakeboosterfunctionasfollows:

Withtheengineoff,pressandreleasethe
brake pedal several times. When brake
pedal movement (distance of travel) re-
mainsthesamefromonepedalapplication
tothenext,continueontothenextstep.
