Thefuelfillercapisdesignedtoallowthefuel
tanktoventduringthefirsthalfturn.When
removing,carefullyloosenthecaponehalf
turnuntilresistanceisfelt,thenpauseto
enablethefueltankpressuretobereleased
(hissinghasstopped),itissafetofully
removethecap.
Fillingstationpumpsareequippedwith
automaticcut-offsensingtoavoidfuel
spillage;onlyfillthetankuntilthefillernozzle
automaticallycuts-offthesupply.DONOT
attempttofillthetankbeyondthispointor
spillagecouldresultduetoexpansionofthe
fuel.
Whenreplacing,tightenthecapclockwise
untilyouhearthefuelcapratchetclickatleast
threetimes.
ThefueltankfillerneckwillONLYaccepta
narrowfillernozzleofthetypefoundon
pumpsthatdeliverunleadedfuel.

Toavoidanysuddendischargeoffuel
causedbyexcessiveairpressure,DONOT
fullyremovethecapuntilpressurehasbeen
released.Thecapshouldberemovedand
placedintheretainingbracketontherearof
theflapuntilrefuellingiscomplete.
DONOTfullyfillthetankifthevehicleisto
beparkedonaslopeindirectsunlightor
highambienttemperature-expansionofthe
fuelcouldcausespillage.

Runningthefueltankdrycouldcreatean
enginemisfirecapableofdamagingthe
catalyticconverter.
Ifyouhaverunthefueltankdryandhave
refilledthetank,turnthestarterswitchto
position’II’.After4seconds,switchoffand
thenreturntheswitchtoposition’II’fora
further4secondsbeforeoperatingthestarter
motor;donotpresstheacceleratorpedal
duringstarting,andRELEASETHEKEYas
soonastheengineisrunning.
