Emergency starting
CONNECTINGTHEBOOSTERCABLES
DONOTswitchonanyelectricalcircuitson
thepreviouslydisabledvehicleuntilAFTERthe
boostercableshavebeenremoved.
Alwaysadoptthefollowingprocedure:
ConnecttheREDboostercablebetweenthe
positive(+)terminalofthedonorbatteryand
thepositive(+)terminalofthedischarged
battery.
Disconnectingtheboostercablesmustbean
EXACTreversaloftheprocedureusedto
connectthem,ie:disconnecttheBLACKcable
fromtheearthpointonthedisabledvehicle
FIRST.
ConnecttheBLACKboostercablefromthe
negative(-)terminalofthedonorbatterytoa
goodearthpoint(eg.anenginemountingor
otherunpaintedsurface)atleast0.5mfrom
thebatteryandwellawayfromfuelandbrake
linesonthedisabledvehicle(enginelifting
ringshowninillustration).
WARNING
Forsafetyreasons;

DONOTconnecttheBLACKcabletothe
negativeterminalofthedischarged
battery-ifindoubt,seekqualified
assistance.
Checkthattheboostercablesareclearofany
movingpartsineitherengine,thenstartthe
engineofthedonorvehicleandallowittoidle
forafewminutes.
Nowstartthevehiclewiththedischarged
battery.Oncebothenginesarerunning
normally,allowthemtoidlefortwominutes
beforeswitchingofftheengineofthedonor
vehicle.
