SEATBELTPRE-TENSIONERS
Theseatbeltpre-tensionersactivatein
IMPORTANTINFORMATION
conjunctionwiththeairbagSRSandprovide
additionalprotectionintheeventofasevere
frontalimpactonthevehicle(see’Airbag
SRS’).Thepre-tensionersautomatically
retracttheseatbeltsfittedtothefrontseats.
Thisreducesanyslackinboththelapand
diagonalportionsofthebelts,thereby

REPLACED.Failuretoreplacethe
pre-tensionerswillreducethe

of15years,thepre-tensionersmustbe

withpre-tensioners,andmakethenew
ownerawarethatthepre-tensionersmust
beexaminedandreplacedbyqualified
personnelafteraperiodof15years.
Ifyourvehicleistobescrapped,
unactivatedpre-tensionersarepotentially
verydangerousandmustbesafely
deployedinacontrolledenvironmentby
qualifiedpersonnel,beforeavehicleis
scrapped.
