effectivenessoftheseatbelts,itDOESNOT
replacethem.SEATBELTSMUSTALWAYS
BEWORN.
Fromtimetotimecarryoutthefollowing
tests:
1.
Withtheseatbeltfastened,givethe
webbingnearthebuckleaquickupward
pull.Thebucklemustremainsecurely
locked.
2.
Withtheseatbeltfastened,sitbackinthe
seatandensureanyslackhasbeen
rewound.Thenmovetheupperbody
sharplyforwardfromthehips-the
mechanismmustlockautomaticallyand
preventanyfurtherunreelingofthebelt.
Caringforseatbelts
Regularlyinspectthebeltwebbingforsignsof
fraying,cutsandwear,alsopayingparticular
attentiontotheconditionofthefixingpoints
andadjusters.
DONOTbleachordyethewebbing.Cleanthe
webbingusingwarmwaterandnon-detergent
soaponly;allowtodrynaturallyandDONOT
retractthebeltsorusethevehicleuntilthey
arecompletelydry.
3. Withtheseatbeltunfastened,unreelthe
webbingtothelimitofitstravel.Check
thatunreelingisfreefromsnatchesand
snags.
Ifaseatbeltshouldfailanyofthesetests,
contactyourdealerimmediately.
DONOTallowforeignmatter(particularly
sugaryfoodanddrinkparticles)toenterthe
seatbeltlocks-suchsubstancescanrender
thelocksinoperative.
WARNING
Itisessentialtoreplacetheentireassembly
afterithasbeenworninasevereimpact,
evenifdamagetotheassemblyisnot
obvious.
