Whenfrequenttransaxleshiftingoccurswhenusingthe
Overdrive range, such as when operating the vehicle
under heavy loading conditions (in hilly terrain, travel-
ing into strong head winds, or while towing heavy
trailers,usetheAutoStickmodeandselectthe“3”range.
Youcanshiftinoroutoftheautostickmodeatanytime
withouttakingyourfootofftheacceleratorpedal.Ifyou
choosetheOverdrivemode,thetransmissionwilloper-
ate automatically; shifting between the four available
gears.Whenyouwishtoengageautostick,simplymove
the autostick lever to theAutoStick position. The trans-
missionwillremaininthecurrentgearuntilanupshiftor
downshiftischosen.Thegearselectionwillbedisplayed
ontheinstrumentcluster.
AUTOSTICK
Autostickisadriver-interactivetransmissionthatoffers
manualgearshiftingcapabilitytoprovideyouwithmore
control.Autostick allows you to maximize engine brak-
ing,eliminateundesirableupshiftsanddownshifts,and
improve overall vehicle performance. This system can
alsoprovideyouwithmorecontrolduringpassing,city
driving, cold slippery conditions, mountain driving,
trailertowing,andmanyothersituations.

Autostick Operation
TheautostickpositionisjustbelowtheOverdriveposi-
tion. When you place the shift lever in the AutoStick
position,itcanbemovedfromsidetoside.Movingthe
levertotheleft(-)triggersadownshiftandtotheright
MovetheleverbacktotheOverdrivepositiontoshiftout
oftheAutostickmode.
