STARTING AND OPERATING

Autostick General Information

• _transmissionIf the system_willdetects_revertpowertrain_{to the automatic}overheating,_{shift mode}the

andremaininthatmodeuntilthepowertraincoolsoff.

•

Thetransmissionwillautomaticallyupshiftfromfirst

to second gear and from second to third gear when

enginespeedreachesabout6300rpm.

• _AutostickIf the system_modedetects_andthea_transmissionproblem it _willwill_returndisable_tothe_the

automaticmodeuntiltheproblemiscorrected.

Downshifts from third to second gear above 85 mph

(137

km/h) and from second to first gear above 47

mph(76km/h)willbeignored.

• _fourthThe transmission_{to third gear}will_atautomatically_{speeds between}downshift_{15 mph}from₍₂₄

km/hand50mph(80km/h)undercertainconditions.

This is to avoid poor fourth gear performance with

acceleratorpedalactuationatlowerspeeds.

Youcanstartoutinfirst,second,orthirdgear.Shifting

into fourth gear can occur only after vehicle speed

reaches17mph(27km/h).

Thetransmissionwillautomaticallydownshifttofirst

gearwhencomingtoastop.

Startingoutinsecondorthirdgearishelpfulinsnowy

oricyconditions.

WhileintheAutostickmode,SpeedControlwillonly

functioninthirdorfourthgear.

Downshiftingoutofthirdgearturnsoffspeedcontrol.
