All three rear seating positions have lower
anchorages that are capable of accomodating
LATCH-compatible child seats. These are
roundbars,locatedatthelowerareaoftheseat
back. Install your child seat as per child seat manufac-
turerrecommendations.
LATCH–ChildSeatAnchorageSystem(Lower
AnchorsandTetherforCHildren)
Yourvehicle’srearseatisequippedwiththechildrestraint
anchorage system called LATCH. The LATCH system
providesfortheinstallationofthechildrestraintswithout
using the vehicle’s seat belts, instead securing the child
restraintusingloweranchoragesanduppertetherstraps
fromthechildrestrainttothevehiclestructure.
LATCH-compatiblechildrestraintsystemsarenowavail-
able. However, because the lower anchorages are to be
introducedoveraperiodofyears,childrestraintsystems
havingattachmentsforthoseachorageswillcontinueto
alsohavefeaturesforinstallationusingthevehicle’sseat
belts.Childrestraintshavingtetherstrapsandhooksfor
connectiontothetoptetheranchorageshavebeenavail-
ableforsometime.Forsomeolderchildrestraints,many
