PARKING BRAKE
Whentheparkingbrakeisappliedwiththeignitionon,
theredBrakelightintheinstrumentclusterwillcomeon.

Whenparkingonahill,youmustsettheparkingbrake
beforeplacingthegearselectorinPark.Ifyoudon’t,the
loadonthetransmissionlockingmechanismmaymakeit
difficult to move the selector out of Park.As an added
precaution, turn the front wheels toward the curb on a
downhill grade and away from the curb on an uphill
grade.
NOTE: Thislightonlyshowsthattheparkingbrakeis
applied.Itdoesnotshowthedegreeofbrakeapplication.
Before leaving the vehicle, make sure that the parking
brake is fully applied and place the gear selector in the
Parkposition.
The parking brake should always be applied when the
driverisnotinthevehicle.
To release the parking brake, pull the release lever
locatedontheloweredgeoftheinstrumentpanel.
