happen:
a. TheMILwillflashforabout10secondsandthen
returntobeingfullyilluminateduntilyouturnoff
theignitionkeyorstarttheengine.Thismeansthat
your vehicle’s OBD system is not ready and you
shouldnotproceedtotheI/Mstation.
Normally, the OBD system will be ready. The OBD
system may not be ready if your vehicle was recently
serviced,ifyourecentlyhadadeadbattery,orabattery
replacement. If the OBD system should be determined
notreadyfortheI/Mtest,yourvehiclemayfailthetest.

b. TheMILwillnotflashatallandwillremainfully
illuminated until you turn off the ignition key or
starttheengine.Thismeansthatyourvehicle’sOBD
system is ready and you can proceed to the I/M
station.
Your vehicle has a simple ignition key actuated test
which you can use prior to going to the test station. To
checkifyourvehicle’sOBDsystemisready,youmustdo
thefollowing:

Insertyourignitionkeyintotheignitionswitch.
