D(Overdrive)withTow/HaulOFFisthenormaldrivingpositionforthe
bestfueleconomy.Theoverdrivefunctionallowsautomaticupshiftsand
downshiftsthroughgearsonethroughfive.
D(Overdrive)withTow/HaulON
TheTow/Haulfeatureimprovestransmissionoperationwhentowinga
traileroraheavyload.Alltransmissiongearrangesareavailablewhen
usingTow/Haul.
ToactivateTow/Haul,pressthe
buttonontheendofthegearshift
lever.
TheTOWHAULindicatorlightwill
illuminateintheinstrumentcluster.
Tow/Hauldelaysupshiftstoreducefrequencyoftransmissionshifting.
Tow/Haulalsoprovidesenginebrakinginallforwardgearswhenthe
transmissionisintheD(Overdrive)position;thisenginebrakingwill
slowthevehicleandassistthedriverincontrollingthevehiclewhen
descendingagrade.Dependingondrivingconditionsandload
conditions,thetransmissionmaydownshift,slowthevehicleandcontrol
thevehiclespeedwhendescendingahill,withouttheacceleratorpedal
beingpressed.Theamountofdownshiftbrakingprovidedwillvarybased
upontheamountthebrakepedalisdepressed.
TodeactivatetheTow/Haulfeatureandreturntonormaldrivingmode,
pressthebuttonontheendofthegearshiftlever.TheTOWHAULlight
willnolongerbeilluminated.
Whenyoushut-offandrestarttheengine,thetransmissionwill
automaticallyreturntonormalD(Overdrive)mode(Tow/HaulOFF).
