The4WDsystemisengagedor
disengagedbyrotatingthecontrol
forbothfrontwheelhublocksfrom
theFREEorLOCKposition,then
manuallyengagingordisengaging
thetransfercasewiththe
floor-mountedshifter.Forincreased
fueleconomyin2WD,rotateboth
hublockstotheFREEposition.

Forproperoperation,make
surethateachhubisfully
engagedandthatbothhublocksaresettothesameposition
(bothsettoLOCKorbothsettoFREE).ToengageLOCK,
turnthehublockscompletelyclockwise;todisengagethehubs
(FREE),turnthehublockscompletelycounterclockwise.

Somevehiclesmaybeequippedwithwheelornamentsthatcoverthe
4x4manualhublock.Theseornamentsmustberemovedtoaccess
themanualhublocks.
Electronic shift on the fly (ESOF) 4x4 system (if equipped)
Ifequippedwiththeelectronicshift4WDSystem,andthe
instrumentpanelcontrolismovedto4X4LOW(4WDLow)while
thevehicleismovingabove3mph(5km/h),thesystemwillnot
engageandnodamagewilloccurtothe4WDsystem.Before4X4
LOW(4WDLow)canbeengaged,thevehiclespeedmustbe
below3mph(5km/h)withthebrakepedaldepressedandthe
transmissioninN(Neutral).Thisvehicleisequippedwitha
non-synchronouslowrangegearsetwhichwillnotallowthe
transfercasetoshiftinto4X4LOW(4WDLow)ifvehiclespeed
isabove3mph(5km/h).Itisrecommendedthatashiftto4X4
LOW(4WDLow)isperformedwhilethevehiclespeedisbelow3
mph(5km/h).
