Choosing the right fuel
UseonlyUNLEADEDFUEL.Theuseofleadedfuelisprohibitedbylaw
andcoulddamageyourvehicle.
Yourvehiclewasnotdesignedtousefuelorfueladditiveswithmetallic
compounds,includingmanganese-basedadditives.Studiesindicatethat
theseadditivescancauseyourvehicle’semissioncontrolsystemto
deterioratemorerapidly.InCanada,premiumgradefuelgenerally
containsmoremetallicadditivesthanregularfuel.Werecommendusing
regulargradefuel.InCanada,manyfuelscontainmetallicadditives,but
fuelsfreeofsuchadditivesmaybeavailable;checkwithyourlocalfuel
dealer.
Donotusefuelcontainingmethanol.Itcandamagecriticalfuelsystem
components.
Repairstocorrecttheeffectsofusingafuelforwhichyourvehiclewas
notdesignedmaynotbecoveredbyyourwarranty.

Wedonotrecommendtheuseof
(R+M)/2 METHOD
gasolineslabeledas“Regular”that
aresoldwithoctaneratingsof86orlowerinhighaltitudeareas.
Donotbeconcernedifyourenginesometimesknockslightly.However,if
itknocksheavilyundermostdrivingconditionswhileyouareusingfuel
withtherecommendedoctanerating,seeyourdealeroraqualified
servicetechniciantopreventanyenginedamage.
Fuel quality
Ifyouareexperiencingstarting,roughidleorhesitationdriveability
problems,tryadifferentbrandofunleadedgasoline.“Premium”
unleadedgasolineisnotrecommendedforvehiclesdesignedtouse
“Regular”unleadedgasolinebecauseitmaycausetheseproblemsto
becomemorepronounced.Iftheproblemspersist,seeyourdealerora
qualifiedservicetechnician.
Itshouldnotbenecessarytoaddanyaftermarketproductstoyourfuel
tankifyoucontinuetousehighqualityfueloftherecommendedoctane
rating.Aftermarketproductscouldcausedamagetothefuelsystem.

fuelmaynotbecoveredbyyourwarranty.
