LIFTGATE
NOTE:   The key  that  is used   to start  the  vehicle  is also
used  to lock  or unlock   the doors  and  open  the  liftgate.
To  unlock  the  liftgate,  insert   the  key  into  the  lock  and
turn  to the  right.  The liftgate  can  also be  unlocked  using
the rem ote keyless  entry  or by  activating  the  power  door
lock  switches   located   on  the   front  doors.   The  central
locking/  unlocking  featu re  (if equ ipped)  can also  be acti-
vated  from  the  liftgate  key cylind er.
Once  unlocked  ,  the  liftgate   can   be  opened   or  closed
withou t  using  the  key. To open   the liftgate,  squ eeze  the
liftgate  release  tou ch pad  located  on  the  backsid e of the
liftgate  hand le and   pull the  liftgate  open  with  one  fluid
motion.

NOTE:
In  the  event   of  a  power   malfunction,   or  the
rem ote transm itter  is inop erative,  insert  the  key  into the
liftgate  lock   cylind er and   turn   to  the  right.  Using   the
liftgate   hand le,  pull   the  liftgate   open   with   one  fluid
motion.
