hot or cold weather and other extrem e cond itions will
have an adverse effect on paint, metal trim , and und er-
bod y protection.
Und er norm al operating cond itions, the fluid installed at
the factory will give satisfactory lubrication for the life of
the vehicle. Fluid changes are not necessary unless the
follow ing cond itions exist:

The lubricant has becom e contam inated with water. If
contam inated with water, the fluid shou ld be changed
immediately.
The follow ing maintenance recom mend ations will enable
you to obtain maxim um benefit from the corrosion
resistance built into you r vehicle.

If severe usage has occurred , refer to Maintenance
Sched ule “B” in Section 8 of this manu al.

paint and protective coatings from you r vehicle.

Vehicle bod y care requ irem ents vary accord ing to geo-
grap hic locations and usage. Chem icals that make road s
passable in snow and ice, and those that are sprayed on
trees and road surfaces during other seasons, are highly
corrosive to the metal in you r vehicle. Outsid e parking,
• Road salt, dirt and moistu re accumulation.
•
Stone and gravel impact.
• Insects, tree sap and tar.
Salt in the air near sea coast localities.
