GCW(GrossCombinedWeight)–istheweightoftheloadedvehicle
(GVW)plustheweightofthefullyloadedtrailer.
GCWR(GrossCombinedWeightRating)–isthemaximumallowable
weightofthevehicleandtheloadedtrailer–includingallcargoand
passengers–thatthevehiclecanhandlewithoutriskingdamage.
(Important:Thetowingvehicle’sbrakingsystemisratedforoperationat
GVWR,notatGCWR.Separatefunctionalbrakesshouldbeusedforsafe
controloftowedvehiclesandfortrailerswheretheGCWofthetowing
vehicleplusthetrailerexceedtheGVWRofthetowingvehicle.The
GCWmustneverexceedtheGCWR.
MaximumLoadedTrailerWeight–isthehighestpossibleweightofa
fullyloadedtrailerthevehiclecantow.Itassumesavehiclewithonly
mandatoryoptions,nocargo(internalorexternal),atongueloadof

–15%(conventionaltrailer)orkingpinweightof15–25%(fifthwheel
trailer),anddriveronly(150lb.[68kg]).Consultyourdealership(or
theRVandTrailerTowingGuideprovidedbyyourdealership)for
moredetailedinformation.
TongueLoadorFifthWheelKingPinWeight–referstotheamount
oftheweightthatatrailerpushesdownonatrailerhitch.
Examples:Fora5,000lb.(2,268kg)conventionaltrailer,multiply5,000
by0.10and0.15toobtainapropertongueloadrangeof500to750lb.

by0.15and0.25toobtainaproperkingpinloadrangeof1,725to2,875
