WARNING: Alwayssettheparkingbrakefullyandmakesurethe
gearshiftislatchedinP(Park).TurntheignitiontotheLOCK
positionandremovethekeywheneveryouleaveyourvehicle.
WARNING: Iftheparkingbrakeisfullyreleased,butthebrake
warninglampremainsilluminated,thebrakesmaynotbe
workingproperly.SeeyourauthorizedMazdadealership.
Driving with a 5–speed automatic transmission (if equipped)
ThisvehicleisequippedwithanadaptiveTransmissionShiftStrategy.
AdaptiveShiftStrategyofferstheoptimaltransmissionoperationand
shiftquality.Whenthevehicle’sbatteryhasbeendisconnectedforany
typeofserviceorrepair,thetransmissionwillneedtorelearnthenormal
shiftstrategyparameters,muchlikehavingtoresetyourradiostations
whenyourvehiclebatteryhasbeendisconnected.TheAdaptive
TransmissionStrategyallowsthetransmissiontorelearntheseoperating
parameters.Thislearningprocesscouldtakeseveraltransmission
upshiftsanddownshifts;duringthislearningprocess,slightlyfirmer
shiftsmayoccur.Afterthislearningprocess,normalshiftfeelandshift
schedulingwillresume.
WARNING: Holdthebrakepedaldownwhileyoumovethe
gearshiftleverfromP(Park)toanotherposition.Ifyoudonot
holdthebrakepedaldown,yourvehiclemaymoveunexpectedly
