Determining if the system is operational
TheSRSusesreadinesslightsintheinstrumentclusterandthe
passengerairbagdeactivateswitchoratonetoindicatetheconditionof
thesystem.RefertotheAirbagreadinesssectioninthe
InstrumentationchapterorPassengerairbagdeactivateswitch
sectioninthischapter.Routinemaintenanceoftheairbagisnot
required.
Adifficultywiththesystemisindicatedbyoneormoreofthefollowing:

Thereadinesslightswilleither
flashorstaylit.
Thereadinesslightswillnot
illuminateimmediatelyafter
ignitionisturnedon.

Aseriesoffivebeepswillbeheard.Thetonepatternwillrepeat
periodicallyuntiltheproblemand/orlightarerepaired.
Ifanyofthesethingshappen,evenintermittently,havetheSRSserviced
atyourauthorizedMazdadealershipimmediately.

properlyintheeventofacollision.
Disposal of air bags and air bag equipped vehicles (including
safety belt pretensioners)
Fordisposalofsafetybeltpretensioners,airbags,orairbagequipped
