RefertotheInstrumentClusterchapterformoreinformation.
Starting the engine
Note:Wheneveryoustartyourvehicle,releasethekeyassoonasthe
enginestarts.Excessivecrankingcoulddamagethestarter.

Turnthekeyto4(ON)without
turningthekeyto5(START).If
thereisdifficultyinturningthe
key,rotatethesteeringwheel
untilthekeyturnsfreely.This
conditionmayoccurwhen:

Turnthekeyto5(START),then
releasethekeyassoonasthe
enginestarts.Excessivecrankingcoulddamagethestarter.
Note:Iftheenginedoesnotstartwithinfivesecondsonthefirsttry,
turnthekeytoOFF,wait10secondsandtryagain.Iftheenginestill
failstostart,presstheacceleratortothefloorandtryagain;thiswill
allowtheenginetocrankwiththefuelshutoffincasetheengineis
floodedwithfuel.
Cold weather starting (flexible  fuel vehicles only)
Incoldweather,ethanolfueldistributorsshouldsupplywintergrade
(Ed85)ethanol.Ifsummergrade(Ed85)ethanolisusedincoldweather,
