Turnthekeyto4(START),then
releasethekeyassoonasthe
enginestarts.Excessivecrankingcoulddamagethestarter.
Note:Iftheenginedoesnotstartonthefirsttry,turnthekeyto

(LOCK),wait10secondsandtryagain.Iftheenginestillfailstostart,
presstheacceleratortothefloorandtryagain;thiswillallowtheengine
tocrankwiththefuelshutoffincasetheengineisfloodedwithfuel.
Ifyourvehiclehasanautomatictransmission,itwillhaveacomputer
assistedcrankingsystem.Thisfeatureassistsinstartingtheengine.
Iftheignitionkeyisturnedto4(START)andthenreleasedwhenthe
enginebeginscranking,theenginemaycontinuecrankingforupto

secondsoruntilthevehiclestarts.
Guarding against exhaust fumes
Carbonmonoxideispresentinexhaustfumes.Takeprecautionstoavoid
itsdangerouseffects.
Ifyousmellexhaustfumesinsideyourvehicle,haveyourdealer
inspectyourvehicleimmediately.Donotdriveifyousmell
exhaustfumes.
Important ventilating information
Iftheengineisidlingwhilethevehicleisstoppedforalongperiodof
time,openthewindowsatleastoneinch(2.5cm)oradjusttheheating
orairconditioningtobringinfreshair.
ENGINE BLOCK HEATER (IF EQUIPPED)
Anengineblockheaterwarmstheenginecoolantwhichaidsinstarting
andallowstheheater/defrostersystemtorespondquickly.Ifyourvehicle
