Refertoscheduledmaintenanceinformationfortheappropriate
intervalsforchangingtheairfilterelement.
Whenchangingtheairfilterelement,useonlytheMotorcraftairfilter
elementlisted.RefertoMotorcraftpartnumbersinthischapter.
Toreducetheriskofvehicledamageand/orpersonalburn
injuriesdonotstartyourenginewiththeaircleanerremoved
anddonotremoveitwhiletheengineisrunning.

Loosentheclampthatsecurestheairinlettubetotheengineairfilter
coveranddisconnectthetubefromthecover(forV6only).

Releasetheclampsthatsecuretheairfilterhousingcover.
Carefullyseparatethetwohalves
oftheairfilterhousing.

Removetheairfilterelementfromtheairfilterhousing.
Wipetheairfilterhousingandcovercleantoremoveanydirtor
debrisandtoensuregoodsealing.

Installanewairfilterelement.Be
carefulnottocrimpthefilter
elementedgesbetweentheairfilter
housingandcover.Thiscouldcause
filterdamageandallowunfiltered
airtoentertheengineifnot
properlyseated.

Replacetheairfilterhousingcoverandsecuretheclamps.
Replacetheairinlettubeandsecuretheclamp.
