suretheundercoverisinstalled
undertheedgeofthefrontbumper.
FILLERBOLT
IfHondaMTFisnotavailable,you
mayuseanSAE10W-30or10W-40
viscositymotoroilwiththeAPI
Certificationsealthatsays‘‘FOR
GASOLINEENGINES’’asa
temporaryreplacement.However,
motoroildoesnotcontaintheproper
additives,andcontinuedusecan
causestiffershifting.Replaceas
soonasitisconvenient.
Correctlevel

Removethetransmissionfillerbolt,
andcarefullyfeelinsidethebolthole
withyourfinger.
Checkthefluidlevelwiththe
transmissionatnormaloperating
temperatureandthevehiclesitting
onlevelground.
Thetransmissionshouldbedrained
andrefilledwithnewfluidaccording
tothemaintenanceminder(seepage
307).
Thefluidlevelshouldbeuptothe
edgeofthebolthole.Ifitisnot,add
Tocheckthetransmissionfluidlevel,    HondaManualTransmissionFluid
removethe16undercoverholding
clipswithaflat-tipscrewdriver,then
removetheundercovercarefully.
(MTF)untilitstartstorunoutofthe
hole.Reinstallthefillerbolt,and
tightenitsecurely.
Ifyouarenotsurehowtocheckand
addfluid,contactyourdealer.
