betowedwiththefrontwheelson
theground,dothis:
Impropertowingpreparationwill
damagethetransmission.Followthe
aboveprocedureexactly.If youcannot
shiftthetransmissionorstartthe
engine(automatictransmission),your
vehiclemustbetransportedwiththe
frontwheelsoff theground.
Manualtransmission:
Releasetheparkingbrake.
Shiftthetransmissiontoneutral.
Leavetheignitionswitchinthe
ACCESSORY(I)positionsothe
steeringwheeldoesnotlock.
Therearetwowaystotowyour
vehicle:
Flat-bedEquipment－Theoperator
loadsyourvehicleonthebackofa
truck.Thisisthebestwayto
transportyourvehicle.
Withthefrontwheelsontheground,
donottowthevehiclemorethan50
miles(80km),andkeepthespeed
below35mph(55km/h).
Automatictransmission:
Starttheengine.
Pressonthebrakepedal.Move
theshiftleverthroughallits
positions.
Wheel-liftEquipment－Thetow
truckusestwopivotingarmsthatgo
underthefronttiresandliftthemoff
theground.Thereartiresremainon
theground.Thisisanacceptable
waytotowyourvehicle.
ShifttoDpositionfor5seconds,
thentoN.
Turnofftheengine.
Releasetheparkingbrake.
Leavetheignitionswitchinthe
ACCESSORY(I)positionsothe
steeringwheeldoesnotlock.
