andrecordthetirepressurefirstandaddtheappropriateairpressure
whenyougettothepump.Itisnormalfortirestoheatupandtheair
pressureinsidetogoupasyoudrive.

Removethecapfromthevalveononetire,thenfirmlypressthetire
gaugeontothevalveandmeasurethepressure.

Addenoughairtoreachtherecommendedairpressure.
Note:Ifyouoverfillthetire,releaseairbypressingonthemetalstemin
thecenterofthevalve.Thenrecheckthepressurewithyourtiregauge.

Replacethevalvecap.
Repeatthisprocedureforeachtire,includingthespare.
Note:Somesparetiresoperateatahigherinflationpressurethanthe
othertires.ForT-type/mini-sparetires(seetheDissimilarspare

psi(4.15bar).Forfull-sizeanddissimilarsparetires(seethe
Dissimilarsparetire/wheelinformationsectionfordescription):Store
andmaintainatthehigherofthefrontandrearinflationpressureas
shownontheTireLabel.

TIRE CARE
Inspecting your tires and wheel valve stems
Periodicallyinspectthetiretreadsforunevenorexcessivewearand
removeobjectssuchasstones,nailsorglassthatmaybewedgedinthe
treadgrooves.Checkthetireandvalvestemsforholes,cracks,orcuts
thatmaypermitairleakageandrepairorreplacethetireandreplace
thevalvestem.Inspectthetiresidewallsforcracking,cuts,bruisesand
othersignsofdamageorexcessivewear.Ifinternaldamagetothetireis
suspected,havethetiredemountedandinspectedincaseitneedstobe
repairedorreplaced.Foryoursafety,tiresthataredamagedorshow
signsofexcessivewearshouldnotbeusedbecausetheyaremorelikely
toblowoutorfail.
