BLIS-CTAon/offanddisableoperation
TheBLISand/ortheCTAcanbeturnedoffviathemessagecenter.
TurningtheBLISoffdoesnotturnofftheCTAandvice-versa.Ifeither
theBLISorCTAisturnedoff,thesystemswillautomaticallyturnback
onatthenextignitionkeycycle.WheneithertheBLISorCTAis
turnedoff,themessagecenterdisplaysBLINDSPOTSYSOFFand/or
CTASYSTEMOFF.WhentheBLISorCTAsystemisoff,thedriverwill
notreceivealerts.RefertoMessagecenterintheInstrumentCluster
chapter.
TheBLIS-CTAcanbedisabledpermanentlyevenafteranignitionkey
cycle.Thismustbedonebyyourdealershipservicetechnician.
Onceeitherofthesystemsaredisabled,enablingmustalsobeperformed
atthedealership.Whendisabled,themessagecenterwilldisplayBLIND
SPOTDISABLEDand/orCTADISABLED.
BLIS-CTAfaultoperation
IftheBLIS-CTAsensesafaultoneithertheleftorrightsensor,the
BLISalertindicatorwillgoONandremainONandthemessagecenter
willdisplayBLINDSPOTSYSTEMFAULTorCROSSTRAFFICSYSTEM
FAULT.Forfaultsthatmaycausetheassociatedleftorrightalert
indicatornottoilluminate,onlythemessagecenterfaultswilloccur.
Blockedsensor
Anextremebuildupofmaterialson
theleftand/orrightquarterpanel
fasciassuchasmudorsnowcan
causedegradedperformanceofthe
BLIS.Also,heavyraincancause
thesameeffect.TheBLIScan
detectthisdegradedperformance
andissueablockedwarningtothe
driverviathemessagecenter.Ifconditionisdeterminedbythesystem,
themessagecenterdisplaysBLINDSPOTNOTAVAILABLEorCROSS
TRAFFICNOTAVAILABLEwarningandtheappropriateleftand/orright
exteriormirroralertindicatorwillilluminate.Themessagecenter
warningmaybeclearedbythedriverbuttheexteriormirroralert
indicatorwillremainilluminated.
