ConfirmationofdisablingBeltMinderisprovidedbyflashingthesafety
beltwarninglightfourtimespersecondforthreeseconds.

ConfirmationofenablingBeltMinderisprovidedbyflashingthesafety
beltwarninglightfourtimespersecondforthreeseconds,followedby
threesecondswiththesafetybeltwarninglightoff,thenfollowedby
flashingthesafetybeltwarninglightfourtimespersecondforthree
secondsagain.

Afterreceivingconfirmation,thedeactivation/activationprocedureis
complete.
Safety belt maintenance
Inspectthesafetybeltsystemsperiodicallytomakesuretheywork
properlyandarenotdamaged.Inspectthesafetybeltstomakesure
therearenonicks,tearsorcuts.Replaceifnecessary.Allsafetybelt
assemblies,includingretractors,buckles,frontseatbeltbuckle
assemblies,bucklesupportassemblies(slidebar-ifequipped),shoulder
beltheightadjusters(ifequipped),shoulderbeltguideonseatback(if
equipped),childsafetyseattetherbracketassemblies(ifequipped),
LATCHchildseattetheranchorsandloweranchors(ifequipped),and
attachinghardware,shouldbeinspectedafteracollision.FordMotor
Companyrecommendsthatallsafetybeltassembliesusedinvehicles
involvedinacollisionbereplaced.However,ifthecollisionwasminor
andaqualifiedtechnicianfindsthatthebeltsdonotshowdamageand
continuetooperateproperly,theydonotneedtobereplaced.Safety
beltassembliesnotinuseduringacollisionshouldalsobeinspectedand
replacedifeitherdamageorimproperoperationisnoted.
