reason,Fordstronglyrecommendsthatyoudonotmakemodifications
suchasaddingorremovingparts(suchasliftkitsorstabilizerbars)or
byusingreplacementpartsnotequivalenttotheoriginalfactory
equipment.
Anymodificationstoavehiclethatraisethecenterofgravitycanmake
itmorelikelythevehiclewillrolloverasaresultofalossofcontrol.
Fordrecommendsthatcautionbeusedwithanyvehicleequippedwitha
highloadordevice(suchasladderracksorpickupboxcover).
Failuretomaintainyourvehicleproperlymayvoidthewarranty,increase
yourrepaircost,reducevehicleperformanceandoperationalcapabilities
andadverselyaffectdriverandpassengersafety.Frequentinspectionof
vehiclechassiscomponentsisrecommendedifthevehicleissubjectedto
heavyoff-roadusage.
DRIVING THROUGH WATER
Donotdrivequicklythroughstandingwater,especiallyifthedepthis
unknown.Tractionorbrakecapabilitymaybelimitedandiftheignition
systemgetswet,yourenginemaystall.Watermayalsoenteryour
engine’sairintakeandseverelydamageyourengine.
Ifdrivingthroughdeeporstandingwaterisunavoidable,proceedvery
slowly.Neverdrivethroughwaterthatishigherthanthebottomofthe
hubs.
Oncethroughthewater,alwaystrythebrakes.Wetbrakesdonotstop
thevehicleaseffectivelyasdrybrakes.Dryingcanbeimprovedby
movingyourvehicleslowlywhileapplyinglightpressureonthebrake
pedal.
Drivingthroughdeepwaterwherethetransaxleissubmerged
mayallowwaterintothetransaxleandcauseinternaldamage.
