These“aftermarketliftkits”couldadverselyaffectthevehicle’shandling
characteristics,whichcouldleadtolossofvehiclecontrolorrollover
andseriousinjury.
Tirescanbedamagedduringoff-roaduse.Foryoursafety,tiresthatare
damagedshouldnotbeusedforhighwaydrivingbecausetheyaremore
likelytoblowoutorfail.
Youshouldcarefullyobservetherecommendedtireinflationpressure
foundonthesafetycompliancecertificationlabelattachedtotheleft
frontdoorlockfacingordoorlatchpostpillar.Failuretofollowtire
pressurerecommendationscanadverselyaffectthewayyourvehicle
handles.DonotexceedtheFordrecommendedpressureevenifitisless
thanthemaximumpressureallowedforthetire.
Eachdaybeforeyoudrive,check
yourtires.Ifonelookslowerthan
theothers,useatiregaugetocheck
pressureofalltires,andadjustif
required.Checktirepressurewitha
tiregaugeeveryfewweeks
(includingspare).Safeoperation
requirestiresthatareneither
underinflatednoroverloaded.
Periodicallyinspectthetiretreadsandremovestones,nails,glassor
otherobjectsthatmaybewedgedinthetreadgrooves.Checkforholes
orcutsthatmaypermitairleakagefromthetireandmakenecessary
repairs.
Inspectthetiresidewallsforcuts,bruisesandotherdamage.Ifinternal
damagetothetireissuspected,havethetiredemountedandinspected
incaseitneedstoberepairedorreplaced.
