Engine coolant temperature gauge
Indicatesthetemperatureofthe
enginecoolant.Atnormaloperating
temperature,theneedleremains
withinthenormalarea(thearea
betweenthe“H”and“C”).Ifit
enterstheredsection,theengineis
overheating.Stopthevehicleas
soonassafelypossible,switchoff
theengineimmediatelyandlettheenginecool.RefertoEnginecoolant
intheMaintenanceandspecificationschapter.
Neverremovethecoolantreservoircapwhiletheengineis
runningorhot.Steamandscaldingliquidfromahotcooling
systemcanburnyoubadly.
Thisgaugeindicatesthetemperatureoftheenginecoolant,notthe
coolantlevel.Ifthecoolantisnotatitsproperlevelthegaugeindication
willnotbeaccurate.
