During the first 1,200 miles (2,000 km), follow

Move the selector lever to N (Neutral) posi-
tion.TheSETindicatorlightwillgoout.
To resume the preset speed, push and re-
lease the RES/ACCEL set switch. The vehicle
willresumethelastsetcruisingspeedwhenthe
vehiclespeedisover25MPH(40km/h).
Toresetatafastercruisingspeed,useone
ofthefollowingthreemethods:
a) Depress the accelerator pedal. When the
vehicle attains the desired speed, push and
releasetheCOAST/SETswitch.

Avoid driving for long periods at constant
speed, either fast or slow. Do not run the
engineover4,000rpm.
b) Push and hold the ACCEL/RES set switch.
When the vehicle attains the speed you
desire,releasetheswitch.

Donotaccelerateatfullthrottleinanygear.
¼ Avoidquickstarts.
c) Push, then quickly release the ACCEL/RES
set switch. Each time you do this, the set
speed will increase by about 1 MPH (1.6
km/h).
¼ Avoidhardbrakingasmuchaspossible.
¼
Do not tow a trailer for the first 500 miles
(800km).
Toresetataslowercruisingspeed,useone
ofthefollowingthreemethods:
a) Lightlytapthebrakepedal.Whenthevehicle
attains
the
desired
speed,
push
the
COAST/SETswitchandreleaseit.
b) PushandholdtheCOAST/SETswitch.Re-
lease the switch when the vehicle slows
downtothedesiredspeed.
c) Push, then quickly release the COAST/
SET switch. Each time you do this, the set
