Remove the head restraint from the seatback.
Storeitinasecureplace.Positionthetoptether
strapoverthetopoftheseatbackandsecureit
to the tether anchor bracket that provides the
straightest installation. Tighten the tether strap
according to the manufacturer’s instruction to
removeanyslack.
Ifyouhaveanyquestionswheninstallinga
top strap child restraint on the rear seat,
consultyourNISSANdealerfordetails.

After removing a rear seat head re-
straint for top tether installation,
store it securely to prevent it from
causinginjurytopassengersordam-
agetothevehicleincaseofsudden
braking or an accident. Always re-
placeitandadjustproperlywhentop
tetherisnolongerinuse.
Forbestchildrestraintfit,seethechildrestraint
installation instructions in this section and the
childrestraintmanufacturer’sinstructions.
Thetoptetherstrapmaybedamaged
bycontactwiththetonneaucoveror
itemsinthecargoarea.Removethe
tonneau cover from the vehicle or
secure it and any cargo. Your child
couldbeseriouslyinjuredorkilledin
a collision if the top tether strap is
damaged.

WARNING
The anchor bolt should be installed at
all times to prevent the possibility of
exhaust fumes entering the passenger
compartment through the holes. See
“Precautionswhenstartinganddriving”
in the “5. Starting and driving” section
forexhaustgas.
If your child restraint has a top tether strap, it
must be secured to the anchor point provided
behinditsposition.
First, adjust the seatback so that it is upright.
Thensecurethechildrestraintwiththerearseat
beltortheLATCHsystem(outboardpositions),
as applicable. For the center position kC , re-
movetheanchorcoverfromtheanchorpointas
illustrated.Keeptheremovedcoverinasecure
placetopreventlossordamage.
