use any other part of the vehicle for
jacksupport.

Incorrect wheel nuts or improperly
tightened wheel nuts can cause the
wheel to become loose or come off.
Thiscouldcauseanaccident.

Never jack up the vehicle more than
necessary.
Never use blocks on or under the
jack.
Donotuseoilorgreaseonthewheel
studs or nuts. This could cause the
nutstobecomeloose.
Do not start or run engine while ve-
hicle is on the jack, as it may cause
thevehicletomove.Thisisespecially
trueforvehicleswithlimitedslipdif-
ferentialcarriers.
Assoonaspossibletightenthewheelnuts
to the specified  torque with a  torque
wrench.

Do not allow passengers to stay in
thevehiclewhileitisonthejack.
Wheelnuttighteningtorque:
80ft-lb(108Nm)

Clean any mud or dirt from  the surface
betweenthewheelandhub.
Carefully put the wheel on and tighten the
wheelnutsfingertight.
AdjusttirepressuretotheCOLDpressure.
COLDpressure:
With the wheel nut wrench, tighten wheel
nutsalternatelyandevenlyuntiltheyaretight.
After vehicle has been parked for three
hours or more or driven less than 1 mile
(1.6km).
Lowerthevehicleslowlyuntilthetiretouches
theground.Then,withthewheelnutwrench,
tighten the wheel nuts securely in the se-
quenceasillustrated.
COLDtirepressuresareshownonthetire
placardaffixedtothecenterpillar.
