NISSAN specifies all season tires on some
modelstoprovidegoodperformanceforuseall
yeararound,includingsnowyandicyroadcon-
ditions. All season tires are identified by ALL
SEASONand/orM&S(MudandSnow)onthe
tiresidewall.Snowtireshavebettersnowtrac-
tion than all season tires and may be more
appropriateinsomeareas.
If you operate your vehicle in snowy or icy
conditions, NISSAN recommends the use of
snoworallseasontiresonallfourwheels.
Tire chains must be installed only on the
frontwheelsandnotontherearwheels.
Foradditionaltractiononicyroads,studdedtires
may be used. However, some provinces and
statesprohibittheiruse.Checklocal,stateand
provincial laws before installing studded tires.
Skid and traction capabilities of studded snow
tires,onwetordrysurfaces,maybepoorerthan
thatofnon-studdedsnowtires.
Do not drive with tire chains on paved roads
which are clear of snow. Driving with chains in
suchconditionscancausedamagetothevari-
ous mechanisms of the vehicle due to some
overstress.
Summertires

to provide superior performance on dry roads.
Summertireperformanceinsnowandicewillbe

substantiallyreduced.Summertiresdonothave Allwheeldrivemodels
thetiretractionratingM&S(MudandSnow)on
thetiresidewall.
Useoftirechainsmaybeprohibitedaccording
tolocation.Checkthelocallawsbeforeinstalling
tire chains. When installing tire chains, make
suretheyareofpropersizeforthetiresonyour
vehicleandareinstalledaccordingtothechain
manufacturer’s suggestions. Use only SAE
classSchains.Class“S”chainsareusedon
vehicleswithrestrictedtiretovehicleclearance.
Vehicles that can use Class “S” chains are
designed to meet the SAE standard minimum
clearances between the tire and the closest
vehiclesuspensionorbodycomponentrequired
to accommodate the use of a winter traction
device (tire chains or cables). The minimum
clearances are determined using the factory

tires equivalent in size and load rating to the
original equipment tires. If you do not, it can
adverselyaffectthesafetyandhandlingofyour
vehicle.
Generally, snow tires will have lower speed
ratingsthanfactoryequippedtiresandmaynot
