ESP and defeat the functionality of the ESP switch.
Repeatingtheprocedurewillreturnthesystemtonormal
ESP operation and restore ESP switch functionality al-
lowingESP“Partial”or“Off”modes.
The following procedure will disable (or re-enable) ESP
functionalityinthevehicle.

Shiftthetransfercaseintothe4Hrangeposition.
2. Turn the steering wheel until it is centered and the
wheelsarepointedstraightahead.

CycletheignitionkeyOFFtoON.
WithESPinthepermanentdisablemode,enhanced
vehicle stability offered by the ESP and ERM sys-
temsisunavailable.Inanemergencyevasivemaneu-
ver, the ESP and ERM systems will not engage to
assistinmaintainingstability.Thisdisabledmodeis
intended for off-highway or off-road use only. Ve-
hiclemodificationsrequiringtheownertoconfigure
thevehicleintheESPdisabledmode,willseriously
affect the vehicles roadworthiness and safety and
mayleadtolossofcontroland/oraccidentresulting
inpossibleseriousorfatalinjuries.
Wait approximately five seconds for the system bulb
check.

Turnandholdthesteeringwheelone-halfturntothe
right(clockwise).

PressandholdtheESPOFFbuttonforsevenseconds.
Turnthesteeringwheelbacktocenter,andturnand
holdanadditionalone-halfturntotheleft(counterclock-
wise).
