LooseFuelFillerCapMessage(gASCAP)
Afterfuelhasbeenadded,thevehiclediagnosticsystem
can determine if the fuel filler cap is possibly loose,
improperlyinstalled,ordamaged.Ifthesystemdetectsa
malfunction,the“gASCAP”messagewilldisplayinthe
odometer display. Tighten the gas cap until a ЉclickingЉ
soundisheard.Thisisanindicationthatthegascapis
properly tightened. Press the odometer reset button to
turnthemessageoff.Iftheproblempersists,themessage
will appear the next time the vehicle is started. This
mightindicateadamagedcap.Iftheproblemisdetected
twiceinarow,thesystemwillturnontheMalfunction
IndicatorLight.ResolvingtheproblemwillturntheMIL
lightoff.

Thegascapislocatedonthedriver’ssideofthevehicle.
Ifthegascapislostordamaged,besurethereplacement
capisthecorrectoneforthisvehicle.
