when activation conditions are not met. The stabilizer/
swaybarshouldremaininon-roadmodeduringnormal
drivingconditions.
Todisconnectthestabilizer/swaybar,shifttoeither4H
or 4L (refer to “Four Wheel Drive Operation” in this
section) and press the SWAY BAR switch to obtain the
off-roadposition.TheSwayBarIndicatorLightwillflash
untilthestabilizer/swaybarhasbeenfullydisconnected.
WARNING!
NOTE: The stabilizer/sway bar may be torque locked
duetoleftandrightsuspensionheightdifferences.This
conditionisduetodrivingsurfacedifferencesorvehicle
loading. In order for the stabilizer/sway bar to 5
disconnect/reconnect,therightandlefthalvesofthebar
must be aligned. This alignment may require that the
vehiclebedrivenontolevelgroundorrockedfromside
toside.
Do not disconnect the stabilizer bar and drive on
hard surfaced roads or at speeds above 18 mph (29
km/h), you may lose control of the vehicle, which
couldresultinseriousinjury.Thefrontstabilizerbar
enhancesvehiclestabilityandisnecessaryformain-
taining control of the vehicle. The system monitors
vehicle speed and will attempt to reconnect the
stabilizerbaratspeedsover18mph(29km/h).Thisis
indicated by a flashing or solid Sway Bar Indicator
Light.Oncevehiclespeedisreducedbelow14mph
Toreturntoon-roadmode,presstheSWAYBARswitch
again.

returntooff-roadmode.
