Key-In-Ignition Reminder
To Release the Steering Wheel Lock
Openingthedriver’sdoorwhenthekeyisintheignition,
soundsasignaltoremindyoutoremovethekey.
Insertthekeyintheignition,andturnthewheelslightly
totheleftorright,todisengagethelock.
NOTE: If you turned the wheel to the right to engage
thelock,youmustturnthewheelslightlytotherightto
disengageit.Ifyouturnedthewheeltothelefttoengage
thelock,turnthewheelslightlytothelefttodisengageit.
STEERING WHEEL LOCK
Your vehicle is equipped with a passive steering wheel
lock.Thislockpreventssteeringthevehiclewithoutthe
ignitionkey.Ifthesteeringwheelismovedahalfturnin
either direction, and the key is not in the ignition, the
steeringwheelwilllock.
SENTRY KEYா
TheSentryKeyImmobilizerSystempreventsunautho-
rized vehicle operation by disabling the engine. The
systemdoesnotneedtobearmedoractivated.Operation
isautomatic,regardlessofwhetherthevehicleislocked
orunlocked.
To Manually Lock the Steering Wheel
Withtheenginerunning,rotatethesteeringwheelone–
halfrevolutionfromthestraightaheadposition,turnoff
theengine,andremovethekey.Rotatethesteeringwheel
slightlyinbothdirectionsuntilthelockengages.
The system uses ignition keys that have an embedded
electronic chip (transponder) to prevent unauthorized
vehicle operation. Therefore, only keys that are pro-
grammedtothevehiclecanbeusedtostartandoperate
