NOTE: ThetransfercasemustbeshiftedintoN(Neu-
tral)forrecreationaltowing.
5. Shift automatic transmission into DRIVE or manual
transmissionintogear.
ShiftingIntoNeutral(N)
Usethefollowingproceduretoprepareyourvehiclefor
recreationaltowing.
6. Releasebrakepedalandensurethatthereisnovehicle
movement.

Shuttheengineoffandplacetheignitionkeyintothe
ACCposition.
CAUTION!

ShiftautomatictransmissionintoPARK.
Applyparkingbrake.
Itisnecessarytofollowthesestepstobecertainthat
thetransfercaseisfullyinN(Neutral)beforerecre-
ationaltowingtopreventdamagetointernalparts.

Attachvehicletothetowvehiclewithtowbar.
Releaseparkingbrake.

Disconnect the negative battery cable, and secure it
