EMISSIONS CONTROL SYSTEM MAINTENANCE
TheScheduledMaintenanceserviceslistedinboldtype
mustbedoneatthetimesormileagesspecifiedtoensure
thecontinuedproperfunctioningoftheemissioncontrol
system. These, and all other maintenance services in-
cluded in this manual, should be done to provide best
vehicleperformanceandreliability.Morefrequentmain-
tenancemaybeneededforvehiclesinsevereoperating
conditions, such as dusty areas and very short trip
driving.

On Non-EVIC equipped vehicles “CHANgE OIL” will
flash in the instrument cluster odometer and a single
chimewillsound,indicatingthatanoilchangeisneces-
sary.

Based on engine operation conditions the oil change
indicatormessagewillilluminate,thismeansthatservice
isrequiredforyourvehicle.Haveyourvehicleserviced
assoonaspossible,withinthenext500mi(805km).

Inspection and service should also be done any time a
malfunctionissuspected.

Theoilchangeindicatormessagewillnotmonitorthe
timesincethelastoilchange.Changeyourvehiclesoil
ifithasbeen6monthssinceyourlastoilchangeeven
if the oil change indicator message is NOT illumi-
nated.
