After Driving Off-Road

tors, wheels, brake linings, and axle yokes inspected
andcleanedassoonaspossible.
Off-roadoperationputsmorestressonyourvehiclethan
does most on-road driving. After going off-road it is
alwaysagoodideatocheckfordamage.Thatwayyou
cangetanyproblemstakencareofrightawayandhave
yourvehiclereadywhenyouneedit.
WARNING!
Completely inspect the underbody of your vehicle.
Checktires,bodystructure,steering,suspension,and
exhaustsystemfordamage.
Abrasivematerialinanypartofthebrakesmaycause
excessivewearorunpredictablebraking.Youmight
not have full braking power when you need it to
preventanaccident.Ifyouhavebeenoperatingyour
vehicleindirtyconditions,getyourbrakeschecked
andcleanedasnecessary.

Checkthreadedfastenersforlooseness,particularlyon
thechassis,drivetraincomponents,steering,andsus-
pension.Retightenthem,ifrequired,andtorquetothe
valuesspecifiedintheServiceManual.
Check for accumulations of plants or brush. These
thingscouldbeafirehazard.Theymighthidedamage
to fuel lines, brake hoses, axle pinion  seals, and
propellershafts.
Ifmud,youslushexperienceorsimilarunusualconditions,vibrationcheckafterthewheelsdrivingforin
impacted material. Impacted material can cause a
wheel imbalance and freeing the wheels of it will
correctthesituation.
