reinstallthevalvestemcap.Thiswillpreventmois-
ture and dirt from entering the valve stem, which
coulddamagetheTirePressureMonitoringSensor.
Inflation pressures specified on the placard are always
âcoldtireinflationpressure.âColdtireinflationpressure
is defined as the tire pressure after the vehicle has not
beendrivenforatleastthreehours,ordrivenlessthan1
mi(1km)afterathreehourperiod.Thecoldtireinflation
pressure must not exceed the maximum inflation pres-
suremoldedintothetiresidewall.

Tirepressureshouldbecheckedandadjustedaswellas
inspecting for signs of tire wear or visible damage, at
leastonceamonth.Useagoodqualitypocket-typegauge
to check tire pressure. Do not make a visual judgement
whendeterminingproperinflation.Radialtiresmaylook
properlyinflatedevenwhentheyareunderinflated.
Checktirepressuresmoreoftenifsubjecttoawiderange
of outdoor temperatures, as tire pressures vary with
temperaturechanges.
