Place the hand-held transmitter 1 to 3 in (3 to 8 cm)
NOTE: Some gate operators and garage door openers
mayrequireyoutoreplaceStep3withproceduresnoted
inthe“GateOperator/CanadianProgramming”section.
Foroptimaltraining,pointthebatteryendofthehand-
heldtransmitterawayfromtheHomeLink௡.
4. Pressandholdthejust-trainedHomeLink௡button.If
thechannelhasbeentrained,theEVICdisplaywillnow
state“CHANNEL#TRANSMIT.”

Simultaneously, press and  hold both the chosen
HomeLink௡buttonandthehand-heldtransmitterbutton
until the EVIC display changes from “CHANNEL #
TRAINING”to“CHANNEL#TRAINED.”
If the EVIC display still states “CHANNEL # TRAIN-
ING”repeatStep3.
NOTE:
After training a HomeLink௡ channel, if the
ThenreleaseboththeHomeLink௡andhand-heldtrans-
mitterbuttons.
garage door does not operate with HomeLink௡ and the
garage door opener was manufactured after 1995, the
garagedooropenermayhaverollingcode.Ifso,proceed
totheheading“ProgrammingARollingCodeSystem.”
If the EVIC display states “DID NOT TRAIN” repeat
Step3.Ifthesignalistooweak,replacethebatteryinthe
originalhand-heldtransmitter.
5. PROGRAMMINGAROLLINGCODESYSTEM
Atthegaragedooropenermotor(inthegarage),locate
the“learn”or“training”button.
Itmaytakeupto30seconds,orlonger,inrarecases.The
garagedoormayopenandclosewhileyoutrain.
