Drain
Use only the manufacturer’s recommended fluid. Refer
to“Fluids,Lubricants,andGenuineParts”inthissection
forcorrectfluidtype.
First remove fill plug, then remove drain plug. Recom-
mendedtighteningtorquefordrainandfillplugsis15to
25ftlbs(20to34N·m).
Transfer Case
CAUTION!
FluidLevelCheck
Wheninstallingplugs,donotovertighten.Youcould
damagethemandcausethemtoleak.
Inspectthetransfercaseforfluidleaks.Ifafluidleakis
found, the transfer case fluid level can be checked by
removing the filler plug located on the back side of the
transfercase.Thefluidlevelshouldbeatthebottomedge
of the filler plug hole when the vehicle is in a level
position.

AddingFluid
Addfluidatthefillerhole,untilitrunsoutofthehole,
whenthevehicleisinalevelposition.
