HowtheAirbagSystemWorks

TheOccupantRestraintControl(ORC)determinesif
afrontal,side,orrollovercollisionissevereenoughto
require the front and/or side airbags to inflate. The
frontairbaginflatorsaredesignedtoprovidedifferent
ratesofairbaginflationfromdirectionprovidedbythe
ORC.TheORCwilldetectrollovers,notrearimpacts.

TheORCalsomonitorsthereadinessoftheelectronic

keyisintheLOCKposition,intheACCposition,or
notintheignition,theairbagsarenotonandwillnot
inflate.
