Windshield Wiper Blades
The fluid reservoir for the windshield washers and the
rear window washer is shared. The fluid reservoir is
locatedintheenginecompartment,besuretocheckthe
fluid level at regular intervals. Fill the reservoir with
windshieldwashersolventonly(notradiatorantifreeze).
When refilling the washer fluid reservoir, take some
washer fluid and apply it to a cloth or towel and wipe
cleanthewiperblades,thiswillhelpbladeperformance.
Topreventfreeze-upofyourwindshieldwashersystem
incoldweather,selectasolutionormixturethatmeetsor
exceeds the temperature range of your climate. This
rating information can be found on most washer fluid
containers.
Clean the rubber edges of the wiper blades and the
windshieldperiodicallywithaspongeorsoftclothanda
mildnonabrasivecleanertoremoveaccumulationsofsalt
orroadfilm.
Operation of the wipers on dry glass for long periods
maycausedeteriorationofthewiperblades.Alwaysuse
washerfluidwhenusingthewiperstoremovesaltordirt
fromadrywindshield.
Avoidusingthewiperbladestowipefrostoricefromthe
windshield. Keep the blade rubber out of contact with
petroleumproductssuchasengineoil,gasoline,etc.

Adding Washer Fluid
OnvehiclesequippedwithaElectronicVehicleInforma-
tion Center (EVIC), the low washer fluid level will be
indicated.Whenthesensordetectsalowfluidlevel,the
windshieldwilllightonthevehiclegraphicoutlineand
the“WASHERFLUIDLOW”messagewillbedisplayed.
