brake pedal. If the driver does not apply the throttle
duringthisshortperiodoftime,thesystemwillrelease
brakepressureandthevehiclewillrolldownthehill.The
system will release brake pressure in proportion to
amountofthrottleappliedasthevehiclestartstomovein
theintendeddirectionoftravel.
HSAwillworkinREVERSEandallforwardgearswhen
theactivationcriteriahavebeenmet.Thesystemwillnot
activateifthevehicleisplacedinNEUTRALorPARK.

8%),
withaloadedvehicle,orwhilepullingatrailer,
HSAActivationCriteria
The following criteria must be met in order for HSAto
activate:

TowingwithHSA
HSA will provide assistance when starting on a grade
whenpullingatrailer.
Gear selection matches vehicle uphill direction (i.e.,
vehiclefacinguphillisinforwardgear;vehicleback-
inguphillisinREVERSEgear).
